Like the PHOENIX range, this material is made exclusively from natural powder. Leather Stone is the result of a rigorous selection of different types of offcuts from the leather goods industry.
Based on a supply chain that simultaneously promotes the offcuts and the craftsmanship of French tanneries, we have developed and applied our PHOENIX expertise to this exceptional raw material. We support creation through this technical and ethical achievement, to bring a new and inspiring perspective to the leather industry.
A spotlight on PHOENIX
Authentic Material offers Leather Stone, made from leather scraps from a renowned tannery in Occitanie. Although a material at the end of its life, these plant based tanned scraps, transformed thanks to Authentic Material’s unique expertise, reveal themselves as an exceptional material. Presented in the refined form of an ingot, Authentic Material has invited artists to make it their own.

To showcase the creative potential of the material to the world of design and crafts, Authentic Material reached out to artists concerned with environmental issues and the revaluation of materials. Tim Leclabart and the Cluzel / Pluchon firm, two winners of the Maison&Objet Rising Talent Awards 2023, accepted the challenge, joined by Laurence Saugé and Basile Michon-Cauwel, designer and artistic director of Authentic Material.
Several compositions were unveiled at the opening of « creative alchemy” on November 27, 2024 at the Sylvia Rielle gallery in Paris.
