The origins of Authentic Material

The creation of Authentic Material stems from a unique and ambitious approach: the transfer of a technology initially developed for the aeronautics industry to a completely different world: luxury and organic materials. This technological transfer is based on a cutting-edge scientific discipline, powder metallurgy, traditionally used for the manufacture of very high-performance metal parts.

This field combines two complementary research axes : powder chemistry, which focuses on the composition, structure and properties of particles; and transformation processes, which allow the creation of homogeneous, stable and durable materials.

Powder, the common denominator

Thanks to the development of a continuous grinding system for a flexible material, we have opened the way to a new generation of innovative materials, combining technical performance, aesthetics and environmental responsibility. This ambitious project is based on several years of research and development and exclusive processes, which allow us to control all stages of micronisation.

Thanks to these proprietary technologies, we obtain a submillimeter powder with a controlled particle size distribution, characterized by its density, homogeneity and reproducibility. This powder constitutes the common base for all our ranges of materials, giving them both technical reliability, qualitative consistency and creative potential.

The origin of leather waste

Authentic Material has developed unique expertise in transforming all types of leather deposits into recycled materials that can be used on an industrial scale.

Two supply models structure this approach :

• Closed loop : customers‘ scraps, quality deviations or dormant stocks become materials, reintegrated directly into their products. The customer is both supplier and user, creating a virtuous and meaningful circularity.
• Open loop : local, secure and traceable supplies allow the production of standardized recycled materials.

With its recycled materials, Authentic Material offers a sustainable alternative to landfill and incineration, and supports its customers in an ambitious circular economy approach.

Authentic Material does not produce recycled leather but recycles leather.
